What Is Super Lawyers?
Super Lawyers® is a rating service of outstanding attorneys from multiple practice areas. To be included on the Super Lawyers list, an attorney must receive a high degree of peer recognition and demonstrate notable professional achievement.
These legal professionals must first be nominated by their managing partners or peers or identified by the Super Lawyers research team. From there, they are evaluated with the 12 indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition, which include:
- Verdicts and settlements
- Experience
- Representative clients
- Honors and awards
- Education and employment background
- And other outstanding achievements
If and only if an attorney gathers enough points during the independent research phase, they will advance to the peer evaluation stage, where they are evaluated by a blue-ribbon panel of other top-rated lawyers.
After this stringent peer review, only 5% of attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers®.
What About Rising Stars?
To be named to the Rising Stars list, attorneys must meet all the requirements outlined in the previous section and be 40 years old or younger. This special distinction is also made for lawyers who have been in practice for 10 years or less.
Only 2.5% of legal professionals make it to the Rising Stars list.
