He is a licensed physician assistant. Mr. Bergé also represents clients in other areas of personal injury, as well as workers' compensation and general litigation. He holds a Master's degree in Public Administration, and lectures on medicine, law and medicolegal topics to local and national groups. Mr. Bergé is proficient in Spanish. * Volunteer for the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, which would mobilize to provide mass public health emergency services, such as immunizations or antibiotic administration, in event of a natural or man-made public health disaster. *Gave a lecture on avoiding medical malpractice lawsuits to the Medical Association of the Centro Médico ABC (ABC Medical Center) in Mexico City, Mexico, in February of 2011. *Spoke on "Anatomy of a Medical Malpractice Case" at the New Jersey Attorney General's Advocacy Institute Division of Law - Inservice Program - August 2011. *Presented "The Expert Witness in Malpractice Cases: An Attorney’s Perspective" as part of the web seminar "Experts, Eggshells, and Gadgets" by the Greater Augusta Chapter American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants in September 2011. *Presented the medicolegal lecture "Critical Communication: Improved Patient Communication, Follow-up and Documentation to Enhance Care and Reduce Legal Risks" at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Atlanta, GA, in June of 2010. The lecture was featured in an article published in the conference daily newspaper *Presented "Hospital Acquired Infection Cases" in medical malpractice seminar, NJAJ, April 2009 *Presented "Analyzing the Emergency Department Case" in ICLE web seminar, "From Triage To Courtroom: Common Liability Issues in the Emergency Department", September 30, 2009 *Regularly lecture to senior students in physician assistant program of Pace University in Manhattan on medicolegal issues *Wrote chapter, "Attorney Use of Medical Records in a Medical Malpractice Case" for text, Medical Legal Aspects of Medical Records, Second Edition, Lawyers & Judges Pub. Co. (published in March 2010) *Co-authored an updated chapter titled "Medical Errors: Roots of Litigation" in the text Nursing Malpractice, Fourth Edition, by Lawyers & Judges Publishing Company, Inc.
